These 3 Fitness Trends Are Making the World a Better Place

If you’ve ever walked into a gym and felt intimidated by walls of weight racks and unapproachable looking fitness machines, you’re not alone. In fact, a recent study found that up to 50% of people are too intimidated to visit a gym. But there’s hope on the horizon. In 2021, we’re tracking three fitness trends that are making the world a better (and healthier) place.

The Inclusive Fitness Movement

Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and empowered in their workout space. At least, that’s the basic premise of the inclusive fitness movement. The inclusive movement philosophy holds that workout spaces should be accessible to people of all shapes, sizes, abilities, and fitness levels.

As Chrissy Kind writes for Shape, “The benefits of movement extend to every single human being and allow you to feel energized, whole, empowered, and nourished in your body, in addition to reduced stress levels, better sleep, and increased physical strength.”

King goes on to spotlight ten trainers who have made it their mission to open the movement doors to more people. Plus, many gyms and athletic centers are taking a more inclusive approach to fitness training.

The Mind-Body Connection

When people think about wellness, they almost always focus on the body. But there’s also another important aspect that affects your well-being: your mind. A balanced workout focuses on nurturing the mind-body connection to promote balance—both physically and mentally.

Healthy mind-body exercises such as tai chi or yoga are great ways to generate a calm mind, an energized body, and a restful spirit. Here are a few you can try to get started.

Corporate Wellness Programs

We’re glad to see businesses step up to take care of their employees. And today’s corporate wellness programs often have a lot to offer. Important things like having an on-site location to train, having healthy snacks to eat, and the use of gym stipends are all great ways for offices to support their most valuable assets: the people who keep everything running.

As a bonus, these wellness programs also boost employee morale and reduce absenteeism. It’s clear that there’s nothing but good things from these programs!

Fitness Trends That Are Just for You

Since day one we’ve worked hard to be more than just another athletic club. We’re community builders, lifestyle empowerers, and your home away from home. As an inclusive athletic club, we always focus on creating a space where members feel like they belong. We’re excited to see these fitness trends that are making the world a more welcoming place.
